Welcome to my blog. I’m Pamela, and I’m thrilled to have you here. I’m based in the United States but have roots in the Philippines.
My husband has a music business. I help him by doing the administrative side of the business. Like many of you, we’ve dreamt of having financial.
I am an introvert, and I love being at home. But I also love the idea of making money while staying home.
It’s embarrassing, but my internet marketing journey started long ago. When I first started doing my research in 2008, I came across internet marketing. If I remember correctly, I came across Warrior Forum. I am not even sure if it still exists now.
There are claims and promises of:
- earning passive income streams
- making money while you sleep
- making money without doing much work
- work anywhere in the world from the comforts of your home
Wow, doesn’t that sound wonderful and easy?
I bought a course in Affiliate Marketing and excitedly went through it. However, that excitement was short-lived. Everything sounded so easy, but when I tried to follow the course, there was a lot of technical stuff involved.
In those days, you needed some technical knowledge to build a website, create landing pages, and the like. If I remember correctly, you needed some HTML knowledge to create a website. Discouraged and feeling incapable, I put the course aside for years.
For many years, I became a passive observer of Internet marketing. While in that stratosphere, I was flooded with emails about different ways or tools to make money online.
I developed the shiny object syndrome (I am sure you know what I’m talking about). I jumped from one program to another and from one “guru” to another. I was the avatar (or ideal client) for seasoned internet marketers. I was looking for a magic button for working a little bit and earning money fast. Does that sound familiar?
Things had gotten a little easier, and I became braver about tackling some technical stuff. I tried affiliate marketing, arbitrage, and Amazon FBA to some extent. I’ve also looked into and considered e-commerce, local marketing, video marketing, and Fiverr.
My earlier exposure to internet marketing resources was WarriorPlus and JVZoo. I bought courses and software/tools after another. Why not? They were cheap anyway.
I was afraid I might miss out on a new strategy or the cool affiliate marketing tool. Also, the new course seemed easier. I bought into the promise of “With just three clicks, you can make money while you sleep.” It might just work for me this time.
But those cheap courses and tools add up, and later on, I realize I’ve spent hundreds already. Additionally, the courses and tools ended up on the hard drive, gathering dust, as they say.
So, for years, I was dabbling in internet marketing, and I saw practically every magic button and secret sauce out there.
Years into it, I still didn’t have anything substantial to show for it. I earned a little commission here and there, but that’s it. Why?
As I mentioned earlier, I was jumping from one course to another, from one guru to another, from one strategy to another, and from one tool to another.
Not only that, I had been what others might call an “Internet Marketing Hobbyist.” I only worked on my business WHENEVER I could. You know, life happens. What a lousy excuse. Sometimes, months passed without me working on my supposedly online business.
So, I would have to start all over again. This cycle continued repeatedly – each time with a different strategy and tool from a different guru.
As you can see, I made many mistakes concerning my quest for internet marketing. One of my greatest mistakes is having the wrong mindset and unrealistic expectations.
I wanted to make money, and I wanted it fast! I tried one strategy and got no results in a few weeks. I moved to the next strategy or the next affiliate marketing tool. Not only did I want to make money fast, but I want it with as little work as possible. That is why I was enthralled with affiliate marketing tools.
Duh, others did it. They said some beta testers got results in as little as one day! As a long-term newbie, I’ve been very susceptible.
A successful and sustainable online business takes hard work, dedication, and focus.
In December 2022, I decided I’d have it! No, I am not going to quit affiliate marketing. Not yet, at least.
Now, I know that it takes time to get an online business from zero to success. Massive results do not happen overnight.
I decided to focus. I chose Quora. This method resonates with me. I like writing better than putting my face in front of a camera. Plus, I get to help people by answering questions.
I worked on it consistently, surpassing the 10,000 views within my first three months. And I even made a couple of affiliate commissions. My numbers continue to grow. As of the first part of 2024, I already have more than 50,000 views. However, my affiliate commission has little to say so far.
Like the song lyrics, “A long and winding road,” – that is the same as my internet marketing journey. Winding as it may be, my internet marketing continues. I learned a lot, and I’ve grown a lot.
I remember that one of the things that held me back was my lack of technical knowledge and ability.
While I was working on my Quora account, I realized that having all these tools, such as AI tools and drag-and-drop web builders, makes life easier and our dreams more achievable.
Simple Internet Blueprint is born from my desire to share my experiences and insights with fellow affiliate marketers. Here, I aim to cut through the noise and provide practical advice on utilizing affiliate marketing tools effectively. While I may not be a guru or a success story, I’m committed to transparency and authenticity in sharing my journey.
